Locally owned and operated, with two convenient locations - one being next to the airport - we have the best island fleet around, with a vehicle or cart to suit any need or occasion. From large format SUVs to budget-friendly vans, with equipment ready in the back upon your arrival, we make it easy. No more standing in long lines at Hertz, no added fees like Turo, and no long drive to the Turo lot - we are conveniently located next to the airport. We also include our local guidebook with every rental (upon request).
How it works at Lihue airport: Located right next to the Lihue airport, with no long Turo shuttle or 45-minute car rental wait times (can be as long as 3 hours in the summer). Kauai Cars will either call you an Uber, or shuttle or reimburse you for a short ride to our warehouse (normally no more than $8). We find it easiest if a driver of the group heads to the rideshare area while others snag bags.
We offer 15% off for any renters with a valid Hawaiian driver's license.

Unlimited miles
You can drive our high-clearance, 4X4 vehicles anywhere on the island. But if you get stuck or something happens, you are responsible for any damage, and the tow.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our cars without a $200 pre-pay cleaning fee.
No smoking, or vape pens inside any of our vehicles. Feel free to smoke in our golf carts, however. Any age - the same rules that apply for motor vehicles apply here: so if you have a toddler, they will need a child safety seat. Everyone must be in a seatbelt.
